Autumn Farm WOW Day

Last week some of the youngest members of our Pre-Prep family enjoyed a magical morning celebrating farm life and all things autumn.

The day began with a sensory tray filled with seasonal treasures, inviting curious hands to explore conkers, colourful leaves, miniature pumpkins, and lentils, all of which were nestled among the children’s favourite toys. This hands-on start sparked excitement for the themed activities to follow.

Next, our Nursery pupils dived into arts and crafts, creating beautiful autumn farm collages, using leaf confetti and farm animal silhouettes. Their creativity shone through and they captured the colours and charm of the season beautifully.

The highlight of the morning was a very special visit from The Good Day Farm. With coats and wellies on, everyone headed outside to meet an array of friendly animals, including Deborah the pig, Gertie the sheep, and two very cuddly goats named Pringle and Jeremy. There were squeals of delight as the children fed rabbits and guinea pigs and gently stroked ducks and chickens — an unforgettable experience for all.

Back in the classroom, Bucket Time brought a surprise guest: Mr and Mrs Cowling’s pet dog, Wiggy, who popped out of the bucket to the children’s delight. Wiggy was just as excited to meet the class as they were to meet him.

The session ended with autumn leaves being blown around the classroom, turning the space into a whirlwind of seasonal fun. After playtime, the children showed fantastic teamwork as they collaborated to sweep up the leaves.

This very special morning concluded with a delicious class picnic, the perfect way to round off a day filled with exploration, creativity, and animal adventures.
