Breaking Records at CSI Event

Six of our Lower Sixth Biology and Chemistry pupils had the opportunity to attend the CSI Event at Dean Close Kingham Hill School, where they applied their creative thinking, critical analysis, communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and numerical skills to investigate the mystery of the “body in a box”.
Led by Izzy, the pupils worked effectively as a team to complete six forensic tasks. They analysed a range of evidence using scientific techniques such as microscopy and microchemistry, and were assessed on each stage of the investigation.

After the first two tasks, they were already ahead of the five other teams. Using careful observation and logical reasoning, they correctly identified the body and broke a ten-year record for the task. Their final score placed them in the top 5% of all-time results, with Charlie achieving the highest individual score within the team — a truly outstanding achievement.
The event provided an excellent opportunity for the pupils to develop their investigative skills and experience scientific problem-solving in a practical setting.
