Dean Close celebrates outstanding A Level results 2026

Dean Close is celebrating outstanding A Level results this summer.  Mrs Ali Harber, Head of Dean Close, said: “We offer our warm congratulations to all our Upper Sixth pupils.  With this outstanding set of results, very many of our young people have secured their first choice pathways including highly competitive university and conservatoire courses as well as prestigious apprenticeships and professional contracts. We thank all our staff and school community for their commitment and dedication in supporting every one of our pupils at Dean Close.” 

Deputy Head Academic, Mr James Hole, said “The impressive grades in a variety of subject areas is a testament to the exceptional levels of teaching, learning and value-added outcomes at Dean Close and we congratulate all our Upper Sixth pupils, not only on their wonderful achievements but also the character and values they have shown throughout their time with us.” 

Mrs Sarah Rath, Head of Sixth Form, commented: “It is very exciting to see our young people benefit from the wealth of opportunities in the Sixth Form at Dean Close. Many of our pupils are taking up places in the UK, including courses such as Medicine at Oxford, and courses at overseas universities such as Georgetown in the US.  Several of our pupils have secured highly sought-after apprenticeships as well as prestigious contracts including in professional sport. Congratulations to all our pupils in Upper Sixth.” 

Almost two-thirds of grades are A*-B and more than a third are A*/A.  More than 20 pupils at Dean Close achieved three or more A* and A grades in their A levels, a number achieving A*s across their 3 or 4 subjects.
