Dean Close Riders Secure Multiple National Qualifications
The Dean Close Equestrian Squad enjoyed an action‑packed half term, showcasing determination and impressive skill across two major NSEA competitions.

On 14 February, Aoife, Fenella, Rose and Lucinda travelled to Allens Hill for the NSEA Eventer Challenge National Qualifiers. All four riders delivered confident, well‑executed rounds, securing qualification for both the 80cm and 90cm teams at the National Finals, set to take place at Hickstead in May.
The momentum continued on 22 February as the squad headed to West Wilts Equestrian Centre for the NSEA County Cup Show Jumping Qualifiers. The courses proved challenging, and with several horses and ponies having a tough day, the riders were pushed to dig deep. Their resilience shone through, and the team produced commendable performances under pressure.
Special congratulations go to Year 9’s Aoife and Year 10’s Lucinda and Fenella, who qualified in the 80–85cm Show Jumping. They will proudly represent both Dean Close School and Gloucestershire at the County Cup National Finals in May.
