Dean Close Riders Shine at 2025 Foundation Show Jumping Event

The 2025 Dean Close Foundation Show Jumping event was a fantastic success, bringing together over 65 schools for a full day of

competition at Rectory Farm. With more than 300 rounds of show jumping taking place — from the 40cm lead rein classes right up to the elite 1.10m level — the event was a true celebration of school equestrian sport at its best. Thankfully, the weather held and spirits remained high throughout.

The Dean Close Foundation teams delivered an outstanding performance, demonstrating not only technical skill but also great teamwork, sportsmanship and composure under pressure. We are delighted to share their results:

  • 80cm Team – 2nd place and Qualified for National Finals
    Aoife C., Joe W., Fenella C., Lucinda F.

  • 90cm Team – 1st place and Qualified for National Finals
    Joe W., Chenxi G., Rose W., Maddie M-S.

    • Maddie also secured her Individual qualification for the National Finals

  • 1m Team – 2nd place and Qualified for National Finals
    Chenxi G., Rose W., Maddie M-S.

  • 1.10m Individual – 1st place and Qualified for both the National Finals and the Hickstead Elite
    Maddie M-S.

Throughout the event, DCF riders were brilliant ambassadors for the Foundation, embodying our core values and representing the strength of the equestrian programme with pride. The day offered a fantastic opportunity for equestrian families to see what makes the Dean Close approach so special — from the coaching and facilities to the camaraderie and support network around our riders.

A special thank you goes to the many DCF staff who came along during the day to support the riders. Your presence was truly appreciated by the pupils and parents alike, and helped make the day feel like a whole-school celebration of equestrian excellence.
