Dean Close Sports Day is breaking records

Our annual Sports Day proved to be a success once again, with clear skies providing the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of outstanding athletic performance and team spirit.

Pupils took part in a wide range of track and field events, demonstrating impressive skill, determination and resilience throughout. Highlights included high jump, javelin, shot putt, discus, long jump, triple jump, sprint races, middle distance running and relays.

This year also brought record breaking performances, marking a particularly memorable occasion. Meg from Fifth Form set a new school record in the long jump, while Jake from Fourth Form achieved an exceptional double success by breaking records in both the triple jump and the 1500m. These accomplishments represent a significant achievement and reflect the dedication and talent of our pupils.

Congratulations go to Tower and Hatherley, who were crowned overall winners of the day. Their consistent performance and teamwork were evident across all events.

We would like to congratulate all pupils who took part for their enthusiasm, sportsmanship and support for one another. The sense of camaraderie throughout the afternoon was truly commendable and contributed greatly to the positive atmosphere of the event.
