First Team Hockey Tour to Barcelona – Half Term Highlights

Over the Half Term holidays, our U18 girls’ hockey team embarked on a thrilling tour to Barcelona, where they combined competitive

play with cultural exploration and team bonding. Their journey was marked by impressive performances, stunning sights, and unforgettable experiences.

The tour kicked off with a fantastic 4-1 victory against Junior, Barcelona, setting the tone for the matches to come. The team also had the opportunity to train at the renowned Polo Club in Barcelona, sharpening their skills in a world-class setting. Spirits were high, and the team approached each match with determination and enthusiasm.

Following a convincing win against Iluro, the girls enjoyed a well-deserved day of sightseeing. Highlights

included visiting the iconic La Sagrada Familia, exploring the beach and harbour, and admiring several of Gaudí’s architectural masterpieces. These outings offered the team a break from the pitch, a chance to experience Barcelona’s vibrant culture, and a perfect setting for team bonding.

The final match of the tour saw the girls face RC Polo Barcelona, where they again claimed victory, finishing the tour undefeated. The team celebrated in style with a delightful meal at the Polo Club’s Clubhouse, toasting to their success and the memories made in Spain.

To close out the trip, the team spent their last day enjoying a visit to Barcelona Cathedral, relaxing at a beach bar, and taking in the sights of the harbour. This final day allowed them to reflect on a successful tour filled with camaraderie, exploration, and impressive play on the field.

Overall, the U18 girls’ hockey team’s Barcelona tour was a tremendous success, leaving everyone with a sense of accomplishment and memories that will last a lifetime.
