Gold Duke of Edinburgh Journey Continues with Buckingham Palace Celebration and Final Expedition in Snowdonia

Last week marked a significant moment for pupils involved in the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award programme, as last year’s Upper Sixth cohort gathered at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the completion of their Gold Awards.

The day was filled with tea, cupcakes, and inspirational talks, alongside the traditional British weather bringing a touch of rain. It provided a welcome opportunity to reflect on their achievements, reconnect with staff, and share stories of their experiences since leaving school. The celebration recognised the dedication and perseverance required to reach the highest level of the award.

On Thursday, this year’s cohort began their final Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition as they travelled to Snowdonia for four days of hiking, challenge, and teamwork in the mountains.

The expedition marks the culmination of months of preparation and training, as pupils take on their final challenge of the award.

We wish them the very best of luck as they take on their final Gold Duke of Edinburgh challenge.
