Mead House’s Chloe Completes 72-Hole Charity Golf Challenge
On Tuesday 28th May, Lower Sixth pupil Chloe completed an extraordinary sporting challenge in aid of Emily’s Gift, the charity founded by former Dean Close teacher and Head of Shelburne House, Julie Kent.
Chloe, who is this year’s Junior Club Captain at Cotswold Hills Golf Club, played an impressive 72 holes of golf in a single day. Her efforts were part of a personal fundraising campaign to support children with cancer and their families through the work of Emily’s Gift. She had initially set a target of £2,000, which she has already exceeded, raising over £2,800 to date.
In the lead-up to the challenge, Chloe also hosted a fundraising soirée with Mead House, bringing the school community together in support of her efforts. Her commitment, energy and generosity have been an inspiration to many.
Earlier this term, Dean Close was pleased to welcome Julie Kent back to the School. Now serving as High Sheriff of Gloucestershire,
Julie spoke at Mead House assembly about the moving story behind Emily’s Gift and the importance of supporting families facing childhood cancer. It was a particularly special occasion for pupils and staff, given Julie’s long-standing connection to the Dean Close community.
We are incredibly proud of Chloe for her courage, compassion and contribution, and look forward to seeing how her fundraising total continues to grow.
