Outstanding Cricket Performances Mark Exciting Start to Trinity Term

It has been an impressive start to the Trinity term for Dean Close cricket, with teams across the School enjoying a series of positive performances and results against strong opposition including RGS Worcester, Malvern, Christ College, Bloxham, The Crypt, Wycliffe and Kingswood.

A particularly memorable achievement came from the 1st XI, who progressed to the third round of the National T20 Competition following an exciting run of fixtures. Their cup journey came to an unusual conclusion in a rain affected match which, after the weather intervened, was decided by a dramatic 10 ball bowl off. Despite narrowly missing out on victory, the occasion marked a historic first for the School and provided a memorable experience for players and supporters alike.

Before the rain arrived, Sam produced a superb century, delivering one of the standout batting performances of the season so far and placing the team in a strong position.

Another special moment for the 1st XI came on Saturday with the debut of Ed in Year 9. The occasion was made even more meaningful as he took to the field alongside his brother George in Year 13, the 1st XI captain, marking the first time the brothers had represented the team together.

The term has already showcased the strength, talent and spirit within Dean Close cricket, and there is great excitement for the remainder of the season.
