Last week, pupils had the exciting opportunity to showcase their creativity in a screening of short films, the culmination of a year-long project in partnership with CEP/Cineyouth and the Cheltenham International Film Festival. Pupils from Cheltenham Bournside School and Dean Close took part in several workshops led by professional directors and cinematographers, developing their skills before producing their own short films as part of their Film or Media Studies coursework.
Among the talented participants was Michelle M from Dean Close, who submitted a thought-provoking short film titled Destiny. Michelle presented her film to an audience of invited guests at the University of Gloucestershire lecture theatre. Following the screening, she participated in a Q&A session, engaging confidently and passionately with attendees. The panel included representatives from Evenlode Productions, a local film production company, and Freddie Holding from the Cheltenham International Film Festival. Michelle's work left a lasting impression, earning admiration for both her creative vision and articulate presentation.
The project will run again this year, continuing to inspire and nurture young filmmakers.
