General notices

Start of the School Day and Pick Up Times (all day parents)

Start of Day

At the start of the day, children should not be dropped off at school before 7.45am, unless arrangements have been made with the school for them to have breakfast in the dining room. Any pupils dropped off before 8.00am must go to Oaksey, which is the only Day H

ouse open at this time.

All day pupils should be in school by 8.15am when the school conducts a legally-required registration. Registration is in individual houses and is a key start to the day, as important notices are given and it allows for a positive and up-beat start to the day to be made. If pupils arrive to school late, e.g. after 8.15am, then they should register at the Front Office and then make their way to their respective houses.

If a pupil is absent for any reason or needs to go for an appointment during the day please could an email be sent to their day house and to the Front Office. Any pupil signing out of school between 8.20-4.20pm must be signed out at the Front Office. Email addresses are:

Oaksey – ejwharris@deanclose.org.uk

Yeaman – cjstanding@deanclose.org.uk

Deacon – rbeecham@deanclose.org.uk

Front Office – dcpsoffice@deanclose.org.uk

End of the School Day

If your children are in Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 it is very important that your children are collected by a parent/guardian from the Day House and are signed out of the house with the duty member of staff. Therefore, we would ask that you not pick up until 4.35pm.

However, due to congestion at pick up time on a Friday we are trialling arrangements that allow day pupils in Years 6-8 with any siblings to sign out from member of staff in a high visibility jacket outside the Centenary Building. If this is something you are interested in please inform your child’s Housemaster/mistress.

Chaplaincy ‘Think Big Week’, Monday 28th January- Friday 1st February (all parents)

We’re excited to be running the Chaplaincy Think BIG Week over the coming five days. Every morning break pupils and staff will be invited to join us to think through a different big question. We’ll be considering everything from how we respond when we’re treated unfairly, to what the best thing about ‘home’ is. Each question will provide a fresh and relevant way to enjoy uncovering the amazing invitations of Jesus once again. Oh… and there’ll be doughnuts! Big thoughts and big fun. All pupils welcome!

Performance Platform, Thursday 31st January (all parents)

Our first Performance Platform of the term. Parents and guardians of performers will be invited once the programme is finalised.
