There are not many school Hockey Clubs which can boast of having all three age groups in the last 8 of their respective National Competitions. Following on from the success of the U16 boys’ team, the U14 team won the West Finals to secure their place at Lee Valley and the 1st XI came from behind in a nail biting match against KES Bath, to secure victory in their last 16 match through a penalty shootout. The girls certainly set the standard, when they qualified for the National Finals and we are delighted that the boys have followed suit.
The Choral Concert last Sunday, Handel’s Israel in Egypt saw stunning solo performances from Lucy O’Rourke, Lucy Pickering, Laurence Kilsby, Salim Jaffar, Matthew Welch and Ashton Mackinnon. The quality of the music was superb in this combined concert with the Schola Cantorum at the Pittville Pump Room.
It was lovely to see the pupils sitting outside on the benches yesterday, chatting to each other and basking in the spring sunshine. We trust that you will all have a relaxing Exeat weekend.
