Exeat Information, Friday 27th September (all parents)

As you are aware Friday 27th September is an Exeat for the whole community. All parents are warmly invited to attend our Chapel Service that begins at 2.45pm in the School Chapel. Pupils may leave for Exeat straight after Chapel which should be from 3.35pm.

In order to ease congestion at the front of school any pupils along with their siblings may be picked from the Chapel. Pupils should be signed out from house staff who will outside Chapel. Pupils being picked up from here will have been asked to take all their belongings with them. These will be stored until pick up. If you are using the option of picking up after Chapel please could you inform the Day/Boarding Houses.

All other pupils will be taken back to DCPS and can be signed out from houses from 3.45pm. On Exeat weekends we ask that all pupils be picked up by 5.00pm.

To help with parking we would also like to suggest the following options:

  1. Please click here to access a map of ‘Humpty Dumpty’ Car Park.
  2. Shelburne Road and Hatherley Court Road (please be considerate to residents by not blocking driveways).

Education Question Time, Thursday 10th October (all parents)

On Thursday 10 October, Dean Close will host a unique and exciting debate to be hosted by Jeremy Vine from 7.00-9.00pm.  Education Question Time (#EduQT) will include the panellists Lord David Blunkett, local MP Alex Chalk, cyber expert Professor Richard Benham, the Warden of Dean Close, Emma Taylor, and The Independent Newspaper Education Correspondent, Eleanor Busby.  The panel will tackle questions from the floor relating to the future direction and content of education for the 21st century.

Preceding the above will be a Pupil Debate involving a number of pupils from a range of local schools. This event will run from 5.30pm-6.15pm.  The bar will be open between these events.

Tickets for the Main Event are £5 plus admin charges (free to 18s and under) and can be purchased directly from the Bacon Theatre by calling 01242 258002 or via the Box Office website https://bacontheatre.ticketsolve.com/shows.
