Last Saturday, the entire School gathered in the Bacon Theatre for the annual House Singing Competition, which once again proved to be a thoroughly entertaining evening with superb singing across the Houses. One of the great aspects of this competition is the fact that it is pupil led, and with such great skill! The only downside is that the Dale House rendition of Postman Pat has been reverberating through our heads all week.

Staying with Music, last night saw the staging of the New Music Scholars’ Concert, with our young musicians demonstrating tremendous skill in a range of instruments from drums and guitar, to saxophone, violin, clarinet and piano, and not forgetting superb vocals. We look forward to following their progress in the coming years.

The girls’ U18 Hockey Team competed in the County Championships on Thursday, winning all their matches to retain the County Title. They now progress through to the West Preliminary round, which is being hosted here at Dean Close on Thursday 12 October.

With the Cheltenham Literature Festival already in full swing, our academic departments are making the most of the opportunities to stimulate intellectual curiosity from some inspiring and eminent speakers.

Health & Hygiene – Preparing for Winter

It is at this time of year that our pupils may start picking up colds and flu, and other illnesses, and we ask that parents follow the NHS Guidelines when it comes to cases of Vomiting & Diarrhoea. Please could we remind everyone of the importance of hand washing, and request that if pupils have been vomiting, that they do not return to school until 48 hours after the last symptoms.
