Having achieved National 90-95cms team qualification in October 2020, the Senior riders of Katherine Year 9, Bella Year 12, Emilia Year 12, and Emily Year 13, headed to Hickstead to the NSEA Eventer Challenge National Finals. It was a tough course which bested some very established equestrian schools despite riders’ best efforts. The Team had to regroup off the back of tricky start in the 80-85cms. They pulled together with Mimi and Bella settling them with two clears in excellent times. Katherine, at her first major National finals, rolled a couple of poles but completed the course to give Dean Close a team score on the board which few schools had been able to do. Emily anchored the team and produced a well ridden clear to finish the team on a zero score. The team took an exceptional 6th place out of the 36 teams that contested the National finals. Mimi took the individual 4th Place and Bella took 7th out of over 200 riders. A true show of determination, teamwork and skill.
