This year our Harvest Festival theme was ‘Harvest for the World’ and everyone was delighted by Year Two’s exciting dance to the song of the title. The harvest presentation was started by the whole school singing the song ‘Beautiful World’. Our friends, families and guests were then treated to each year group presenting their songs, including some from around the world, such as Nursery dancing and shaking instruments to Jabulani Africa, Year One singing ‘Le fermier dans son pre’ (complete with animal costumes!) and Year Two’s Harvest Samba. Kindergarten sang ‘It’s Harvest Time’ accompanied by wonderful actions and Reception impressed everyone with their super rendition of ‘Big, Red Combine Harvester’.
James played a confident and enjoyable solo violin introduction to Year One’s ‘Mango Walk’ and the parents and friends joined in to sing ‘We Plough the Fields and Scatter’. During the presentation, we also explained how our charity, ‘The Cheltenham Foodbank’, supports families in need in Cheltenham and we were delighted that we had collected so many donations for the charity.
Well done to all the children for such a super start to the year and a big thank you to parents, family and friends for their support of this worthy cause.
