Do you have a son who loves to sing? Have you ever considered entering him for a Choristership, but had no idea what was involved? Every year in the Michaelmas Term we give boys between the age of 6-10 the chance to be a ‘Chorister for the Day’.

This year, our event has been postponed because of the pandemic. Please contact our admissions department for alternative options and if you would like more information.

WHAT HAPPENS?

Boys arrive at Dean Close Preparatory School, normally in the afternoon. Parents will have a chance to meet key members of staff and receive a short presentation about what it means to be a Chorister in Schola Cantorum. Meanwhile the boys will enjoy some professional singing coaching, both from the Director of Schola Cantorum and other key music staff.

The boys will then have a break and perhaps play some football with some of our Choristers, before being taken to the magnificent Tewkesbury Abbey, where they will rehearse for the service.

Evensong starts at 5.30pm and we encourage parents to join us at the Abbey. There will also be an opportunity to meet current parents and staff members.

After spending the ‘day’ with us, Mr Bell will contact parents to share further information about becoming a Chorister.
