One of the roles of a preparatory school is to ensure that pupils in their final year are fully prepared for their transition to their senior school. As many of our older pupils show the usual signs of beginning to outgrow the Prep School, both physically and emotionally, our task is to ensure that they are equipped for the next step in their education and aware of some of the challenges of the transition to come. We are fortunate at DCPS to be closely tied to our Senior School, where we benefit from shared values and facilities, as part of the wider Dean Close community. This week’s fabulous concert, a ‘Celebration of Music Across Dean Close’, not only displayed the depth of talent at Dean Close, but also built confidence and excitement in our Prep School pupils as they look forward to the journey ahead.
