Mrs Davies, Head of PSHCE and Wellbeing, had her reservations about how PSHCE would work live as a group discussion activity but….of course she need not have worried about our pupils’ ability to find a way of talking, even if it is remotely!

Mrs Davies said; ‘…I have been so impressed with the thoughtful and perceptive comments that have showed, in many cases, a maturity beyond their years.  They have certainly retained the important messages covered in previous years at DCPS…’

Personal safety has been emphasised and risky behaviours highlighted, in particular how to stay safe online.  Road safety is also an important focus for all year groups and this seemed to be a matter that was on their minds.  Many of the Year 7 and 8 classes joined in highlighting the importance of wearing reflective clothing as we take early morning or late afternoon walks, and even more of us felt passionately about the No Need To Speed message from last November’s Road Safety Week campaign.  Some were even considering emailing their local MP to effect a reduction in speed limit on roads near them, an excellent idea especially as there are many more pedestrians out walking at the moment and crossing roads.
