As part of their topic on Space, Year Two had an amazing day at ‘We The Curious’, Science Museum and Planetarium in Bristol this week. The day started with a visit to the planetarium for a 3D experience where the children observed the constellations and learnt all about the night sky. The children were very excited to ‘journey’ towards the sun but were very disappointed to discover that the sun will swallow up the Earth in about 5 million years!

Everyone then had the opportunity to explore many different aspects of science, including launching parachutes, constructing walls, making bubbles, milking a cow, creating animations and using robots.

They even found out how to go to the toilet in space!

It was a fantastic visit and the children came back armed with lots of new fascinating facts about Space and were inspired to research more about their topic!
