On Friday 17th May, we had a change from our normal chapel service, moving to the Bacon Theatre for a performance from Rebekah Fitch. Northern Irish singer-songwriter Rebekah has performed in multiple venues in Belfast, gained commercial success with playlisting on radio and also did a UK and Ireland tour in 2018. Her performance utterly captivated us, complete with mesmerizing live-looping on multiple instruments including flute, piano, percussion and powerful vocals. As well as performing her songs, Rebekah shared how her music is influenced by both issues surrounding mental health and her faith in Jesus. She also stayed behind to chat to students who may be thinking about going into the music industry and answer their questions. Rebekah’s energy, honesty and exceptional talent made for a really enjoyable evening in the midst of a busy stage of term.
