The Remembrance Day display in the Centenary Hall Foyer is based on those Old Decanians who fell during the First World War. In 2014 ‘We Will Remember Them’ was published listing 128 ODs who are known to have died during the conflict. Since its publication, a further seven names have been added to this list, making a total of 135 Old Decanians altogether. The exhibition includes photographs from the Roll of Honour of some of those men. Although Dean Close Prep School came into existence as a department within the Senior School in 1938, it was not until 1949 that it existed as a separate institution with its own Head Master. However, since Dean Close School opened in 1886, boys of junior or prep school age have attended. The exhibition includes short accounts of the lives of some of those junior boys who came to Dean Close aged between 8-11 years old who fell during 1914-1918 as well as letters sent home and published in The Decanian Magazine.
