Fifteen students competed in this year’s Remove Recitals; each had memorised a poem and delivered it to a spellbound audience in the Bacon Theatre.  Performances ranged from the moving “Mid Term Break” by Seamus Heaney, a laugh-out-loud performance of Dahl’s “Three Little Pigs” and performances in Spanish, Ukrainian and German.  No one envied the challenge for the adjudicator Mr Hole and his Sixth Form judging panel but the winners were Hannah Porter, Iona Hutton and, in first place, Katie Smart.  Afterwards, the Department agreed that this was the best Remove Recital that we had seen – many congratulations to all of those who took part.
