Your child first and always. Here at Dean Close we value every person and we take pride in ensuring that our pupil’s needs are well-met and cared for.
Our Health Centre provides health and medical support should pupils require our services. There is 24 hour care for our pupils in-place. There is a whole-hearted commitment to the wellbeing and health of every single member of the Dean Close family.
The Health Centre is led by the Designated Safeguarding Lead and consists of a Clinical Lead Nurse, Health Centre Manager, Physiotherapist, a School Counsellor and 5 HCAs. Our building, situated next to the Senior School Dining Hall, consists of one isolation room and five inpatient beds for our pupils. Male and female pupils are nursed in separate areas.
The team have regular contact with the Senior Leadership Teams (SLT), Houseparents and teaching staff to ensure our care is robust and that appropriate communication channels are in place.
We also have a GP that is on-site on weekday mornings to run clinics at set-times. Appointments can be booked directly with the doctor or can be booked via the Health Centre by email or phone. The Health Centre can also provide appointments for the Physiotherapist directly. During games sessions the Physiotherapist is in attendance pitch side.
