Miss Villiers is retiring from teaching this summer after 36 years at Dean Close!

For her retirement present, we are putting together a compilation of short 15 second videos from Decanians, Old Decanians, Parents and Staff (current and former) and anyone from the Dean Close Community.

If you are able to, please record a short video and upload it via the form at the bottom of this page.

Here are some ideas as to what you could talk about:

  • What you are doing now
  • If you still use your language skills
  • A favourite memory

If you do not want to record yourself, please consider sending a short quote or message that we could include (again please use the form below).

One final thing, we are wanting this to be a secret so if you are still in touch, please do not mention it to her.

We look forward to hearing from you.

This is what was written about Miss Villiers, when she first joined, extract from the 1986 Decanian…

Miss S. C. Villiers joined the Modern Languages team. During her degree course in French (taken at Birmingham University) she spent a year in Toulouse. Miss Villiers trained as a teacher in Cheltenham itself. She is involved in Shooting (on Mondays) and First Aid (for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards); sings in the School Choir; helps with cross country; and is attached to Mead as a tutor. She is impressed by the range of opportunities that Dean Close offers to scholars.
