This year’s Remembrance Service, Led by Flight Sergeant Ellie Gammon, and directed by WO2 Lloyd, was incredibly moving, with poignant readings and wonderful hymns. The flag bearers, Cpl Lucy Pickering and LR Alex Green, executed the drill especially well and Cpl Dan Barrow bugled the Last Post and Reveille beautifully, managing to not only capture the sombre and respectful atmosphere, but also perform with precision and clarity.

Sixth Form pupil, Freddie Faux said, “As an army child, the chapel service carried a huge weight for me in terms of importance and I was privileged to take part in the service as one of the colour party. The best part of the service, for me, will always be the hymns sung. In some chapels hymns can lack volume and confidence, but at Dean Close the walls practically reverberated with respect, pride and the booming sound of 500 or so voices belting out I vow to thee my country.”
