Not to be out done by the girls the U13 boys have also enjoyed recent success at the Severnside Rugby Tournament. The U13A team won their section and the 13B team joined the As in winning their respective Severnside 7s as well.  An 11 man squad earned four wins and a draw to top the table in a closely contested tournament.

U13B Team Report

The U13B team played some fantastic free-flowing rugby with some dominant performances, whilst also showing grit and resilience when coming from behind to earn a draw against Cheltenham College. Perhaps most pleasingly the 13B team were able to employ many of the tactics that they all discussed prior to the tournament. They were able to exploit the wide spaces which can be enjoyed when playing 7s, whilst their opponents struggled to handle the continuous popping of the ball which limited opportunities for turnovers.

U13A Team Report

The U13A team started the second half of term off superbly, also winning the Severnside Rugby 7s tournament. The team started the day well winning their opening match against Wycliffe and scoring six tries in the process.  With bonus points being awarded to sides that score five or more tries it was great seeing the team playing such good attacking 7s. Further bonus point wins followed against The Downs Wraxall and Cheltenham College, which set up a deciding game against Beaudesert who were also unbeaten.  In this game the team dominated possession and moved the ball very well, running out as comfortable winners.  A final victory over St John’s on-the-Hill rounded off an unbeaten afternoon and saw Dean Close win the trophy.

Well done to both the U13A and B teams a great rugby season!
