With the recent warm weather and summer approaching fast, Skiing is probably the most unlikely sport pupils would be participating in. However, three DCPS brothers recently travelled to the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead to take part in the National Open Schools Skiing Competition, competing against 214 other children.

They all did extremely well in their age groups. Oliver Billings in the U10, Finlay his brother in the U12 and Luke the eldest Billings in the U14 section. Oliver came 2nd out of 40, Finlay 7th out of 52 and Luke 3rd out of 47. As a team, they came first, their combined score putting them 10 points ahead of the second placed team.

Finlay commented, “It was really exciting to race indoors for the first time and to win the competition for my new school.”

Later in the Trinity Term, the boys enjoyed further success at the British Schools Indoor Open Ski Competition in Manchester. They achieved a 1st in the U14 class – with the fastest time of the day, a 5th in the U12 class and a 4th in U10 – which made them the winning team of the day, once again.

A fantastic achievement, well done boys.
