Children at the Squirrels had great fun performing to family and friends at their Spring Festival concerts this year! The theme was certainly apt for the time of year – ‘Sunshine and Showers’ but we tried to bring lots of sunshine through our performances! The whole school sang the song ‘Sunshine, Showers and Rainbows’ which matched the theme and it was lovely to have everyone involved.

The concert got off to a superb start with Kindergarten singing about little clouds and the ‘Rainbow’ song which included all the colours! They were followed by Nursery who displayed wonderful confidence singing ‘Pitter Patter’ very clearly with accompanying actions.

Year Two then performed a spring song in French ‘Le printemps’ which was very impressive and which they clearly enjoyed, followed by a lovely lively song ‘Life is a wonderful thing’! Reception followed with the well-known song from ‘Bambi’ – ‘Little April Shower’ and then with a very active ‘Hello Mr Sun’ which we all wanted to join in with!

Year One’s focus was the sun. Their first piece was a poem entitled ‘Don’t you think the sun is bright?’ which they spoke very clearly, with great intonation and expression and then followed this with a song ‘When it’s a sunny day’ which they obviously greatly enjoyed – and so did we.

The finale of our concert was an amazing dance performance by Year Two to the song ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ complete with lots of exciting dance moves, our Year Two tap dancers and featuring umbrellas! It was a very exciting way to finish the performance!

Thank you to all parents, families and friends for coming to supporting us – and a special well done to all our performers!
