On Thursday 14th May, the Year 2 Dean Close Pre-Prep choral speaking group were delighted to bring ‘The Selwyn Challenge Cup’ back to school again, winning the U8 choral speaking class! The group of Year 2 pupils performed ‘Giraffes can’t dance’ by Giles Andrae. They spoke with great confidence and enthusiasm, and the adjudicator complimented them for their variety and changes of tone, use of groups and delightful choral voice.
We, too, were delighted with their performance and it is wonderful that our children are able to perform with such enjoyment and poise. They worked very hard and should be very pleased with their achievements. Thank you very much to Mrs Turner, their Speech and Drama teacher, who encouraged them to perform so well. Thank you also to Mrs Lawrence and Mrs Trant for help practising the performance in the last sessions before the Festival and a special thank you to parents who were at the Town Hall to support us!
