Fists were flying in a workshop for Dean Close drama students when they spent an afternoon learning how to act out a fight.

Everyone studying drama at GCSE and A Level took part in a two hour workshop where they learnt how to punch, kick, head-butt and generally batter an opponent – but all in controlled stage conditions. The secrets of the trade were taught to them by Ed Gamester who demonstrated some basic hand-to-hand moves – things which so often come up in production fights.

Director of Drama, Lloyd Allington said: “Our pupils loved this session and hurled themselves (literally) into it – not least our own department member, Sarah Wiegand, who really got stuck in and took the redoubtable Sixth Former, Gabbie Sills, on. Both of them, it seems, can land quite a punch! A hugely fun workshop.”
