It gives me great pleasure to welcome back those of you who are existing parents and guardians and indeed those of you who are joining Dean Close for the first time. It feels as though the School is already very much in session, having had the rugby and hockey squads in training all of last week, and the staff have been here preparing for the New Academic Year. This weekend has seen the arrival of our new Overseas Boarders, and they appear to have settled quickly into their new surroundings.

Over the summer there have been some exciting developments, and I have no doubt that the 6th Form in particular will enjoy the benefits of their new 6th Form Social area, and the refurbishment and replacement of the carpet on Ellams Hockey pitch will transform that playing surface into a first class facility. The Estates team have worked incredibly hard on a large number of projects and we are very grateful for their commitment and dedication.

This Weekly Mailing provides the Portal which will give you information about forthcoming events, trips and excursions, reminders about dress code, policies, and a host of other exciting news. I trust that you will find this helpful.

I trust that your sons and daughters will have a happy and constructive year!
