Year Two enjoyed a wonderful Shakespearean workshop when two professional actors, Beatrice Lawrence and Eoin McAndrew visited the Prep School. On arrival the children were split into teams and each team was given quote from a Shakespearean play. Using this quote they had to interpret it and create a scene from its meaning.

The pupils did fantastically well. One team did The Wall; another Moonshine and another Pyamus and Thisbe from the ‘play within a play’ mechanicals’ scene – all from A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Headmistress, Dr Carolyn Shelley said, “It was wonderful to see the children enjoying Shakespeare at this young age.   The workshop enabled them to see that Shakespeare is exciting, whilst giving them an understanding of the story and even an introduction to Shakespearean language!  – what a wonderful experience.”
