Highlights of the Week
Start of Term Arrangements
Based on the feedback that we received from all parties following a week of online teaching in the last week of the Lent Term, we have adjusted the timetable accordingly. The Weeks are called ‘Week D’ and ‘Week E’ and we start with ‘Week D’ on Tuesday 21 April. Lessons will take place in the morning and in the afternoon there will be an ever increasing range of Co-Curricular activities to select from. Please read the correspondence below regarding the changes to the timetable.

Children of Key Workers
We will continue to offer a provision for children of Key Workers in school and as such we would be grateful if you could email Deputy Headmaster, Mr Andrew Hall on email@example.com if you would like your son or daughter to be educated in school from Tuesday 21 April onwards.
With lessons occurring in the mornings for those on British Summer Time or UTC +1, we are wanting to provide a range of activities for pupils to be able to select from so that they are never in the situation where they can say they are ‘bored with nothing to do’. The same applies to our overseas pupils in their different time zones.
The Drama Department and Library have put together a fantastic resource of Cinema Masterpieces that can be viewed https://dcslibrary.com/cinema-masterpieces, and discussed online if necessary, the Food Preparation & Nutrition Department (aka Cookery School) are running a continuous Bake-Off Competition, there is a Politics Extension Club running on a Tuesday, a Minecraft Club with the idea of recreating scenes from literary texts et al., an online DCS Chess Club, etc. Please keep an eye on the DCS @ Home page on the website for further details. If pupils have any ideas of clubs that they want to initiate, Mr Hall would love to hear from you about your ideas.
Trinity Term Calendar
Due to the uncertainty that exists surrounding the start of the Trinity Term and the associated calendar events, we have taken the decision not to print a Trinity Term Calendar. We will send you an updated link to our online calendar when there is more clarity.

Six days of Drama, Song and Dance, giving students the chance to discover and develop their talents!
Led by Dean Close Prep School, Director of Drama, Lynne Lawrence & Director of Cheltenham Youth Choir, Rachel Bowen, students will rehearse towards a sparkling final production of Beauty & The Beast on Saturday 29th August, on stage in the Centenary Hall supported by the Bacon Theatre tech team.
The age range is 6 – 17 years. School Years 2 – 11 inclusive. Your child is invited to attend an informal audition at Dean Close Preparatory School on Sunday 28th June at 10am in the Drama Suite to determine some of the parts in the production. All children, irrespective of ability and experience, are welcome on the course. The focus will be on having fun while developing acting, singing and dancing skills. Each day will be action packed as they prepare to perform for Family & Friends at the end of the week!
