Contact Tracing: End of Term
We are hoping that this won’t be necessary, but we would be grateful if you could contact us on email@example.com if your son or daughter develops any Covid related symptoms anytime between 1.00pm on Friday 2 July and 1.00pm on Sunday 4 July. This covers the critical 48-hour ‘contact’ time period for contracting the virus whilst your child was in school.
If any pupils were to display symptoms during this window, and then test positive, we would be required to contact Public Health England, and make contact with the pupil’s close contacts, who would then need to self-isolate according to government regulations.
Testing: Government Guidance
We have been notified that pupils and staff do not need to continue Lateral Flow Testing during the summer holidays. If pupils want to continue testing to provide confidence, they are welcome to do.
“Regular testing will pause in education settings over the summer except for in those that remain open such as summer schools, out of school settings and those that do not operate on a term-time basis. In these cases, only those attending should continue to test regularly. However, testing is still widely available and kits can be collected either from your local pharmacy or ordered online.” DfE, 28 June 2021
