Commemoration Weekend

Friday 24 & Saturday 25 May

It is with great pleasure that the Headmaster and Common Room invite parents and families to our Commemoration Weekend. We look forward to welcoming you on this special occasion.

Once again we will be offering a Picnic Hamper Service for lunch. For further information, please CLICK HERE!

Exeat Weekends

This year we have offered a number of alternatives for our exeat weekends. It has been very useful for us to look at how these weekends can offer the best possible rest for pupils and staff. We will be using all of the feedback we have received to inform our planning of next year.

The exeat weekend next week includes a national holiday so will the school will be closed from Friday 3 May at 4pm with boarders being allowed to return after 6pm on Monday 6 May. Dean Close is not in a position to offer any accommodation over this weekend so individuals will have to make their usual arrangements.

Fifth Form Skills Week 2019

Monday 24 June – Friday 28 June 2019

We will once again be running an optional skills week for all 5th Form pupils.  The week is aimed at providing pupils with the opportunity to partake in some practical skills, some of which lead on to a formal qualification at the end of the course. Pupils can attend more than one course if the dates and times permit but please note that places are limited and therefore will be on a ‘first come, first served basis’.  Deadline for returns is Tuesday 7 May 2019.

Please click here for the letter with further details and the Parental Permission Slip.

A Celebration of Music across Dean Close

Wednesday 1 May

This concert will be taking place in the Centenary Hall at the Prep School, with 6.30pm drinks for a 7.00pm start.  It will comprise a mixture of solo and ensemble pieces by pupils from the Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior Schools and we anticipate that the concert will finish at around 8.00pm.  Parents, family and friends are all very welcome to come along.

SoGlos Awards

We are thrilled to announce that Dean Close has been shortlisted for the second year running for this year’s SoGlos Awards. Please help us win Best Independent School in Gloucestershire (again!) by voting using the following link www.soglos.com/awards.

If you are not a SoGlos member you will need to register to be able to vote. This takes just a minute! It would be a fantastic achievement for Dean Close if we were to win two years running. Every vote counts so please encourage friends and families to get involved! Voting remains open until Tuesday 30 April!
