Highlights

  • On their return to school on Monday evening the Gate, Turner, Tower and Shelburne pupils enjoyed an evening of socialising and entertainment.
  • The 5th Form have started their GCSE exams this week and we wish them all of the best for the coming weeks.
  • The Confirmation Service on Wednesday took place in the Chapel with 5 candidates being confirmed.
  • The A level artists have had a busy week completing their practical exams with some stunning outcomes.
  • 5th Form Latinists enjoyed a Virgil Revision and Dinner session on Tuesday evening.
  • The 4th & Remove enjoyed the RSC Live Production of ‘As You Like It’ in the Bacon Theatre on Thursday.
  • The Mead Soiree took place last night and saw great variety from the talented young ladies.

Live broadcast from Dean Close Chapel

BBC Radio 4 will be broadcasting “Sunday Worship” from Dean Close Chapel on Sunday 12 May at 8.10am. The choristers (who are all pupils at the Prep School) and the lay clerks of Tewkesbury Abbey Schola Cantorum will be leading the worship, and we would very much like members of the community to either join us in person or to tune in. The Bishop of Gloucester is preaching at the service, which will last for 40 minutes. If you are able to attend, please could you arrive at Chapel by 7.45am.

 

Commemoration Weekend

Friday 24 & Saturday 25 May

It is with great pleasure that the Headmaster and Common Room invite parents and families to our Commemoration Weekend. We look forward to welcoming you on this special occasion.

Tickets are only required for the concert on the Friday evening but it would be helpful to know numbers for Saturday for catering/seating purposes.

Please complete the attached form and return ticket requirements and numbers to Karen Evans, office@deanclose.org.uk in the Front Office.

Commemoration Concert: Bacon Theatre (tickets required)

Day pupils attend with their parents and will require tickets.

Boarding pupils will attend with their houses (if you wish your boarding pupil to sit with you they will require tickets).

Information for Parents/Guardians of performers at Commem Concert

Please would parents/guardians note below, the dress code for everyone performing in the Commem Concert on Friday 24 May. Everyone in the Orchestra and/or Chamber Choir will be performing on the night.

Girls:  Full length colourful dress

Boys: All black – with white shirt, to have long sleeves, collar and buttons.  No tie.

Button holes will be provided for all performers.

 

Ultimate Activity Camps

Ultimate Activity Camps will be back this Summer, using our fantastic facilities for their fun filled and active camps. The dates this year are Monday 22 July – Friday 23 August.

Children will be inspired to try new activities, make new friends and ultimately have lots of fun in a safe environment.
