• Live Broadcast from Dean Close Chapel on BBC Radio 4 provided a wonderful start to last Sunday morning. You can listen to it HERE!
  • Remove and Lower 6th Drama Scholars thoroughly enjoyed watching the National Theatre Live production of ‘All my Sons’ in the Bacon Theatre on Tuesday.
  • Lower 6th Business pupils visited the Morgan Car Factory and Weston’s Cider as an extension to their curriculum.
  • On Thursday evening the Modern Foreign Languages pupils watched the French Film ‘Monsieur Batignole’.
  • Friday saw a change of Chapel venue to the Theatre where Rebekah Fitch spoke, and performed her music to the school.
  • Dean Close was absolutely thrilled to retain the title of Best Independent School in Gloucestershire at the SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards 2019.

Commemoration Weekend

Friday 24 & Saturday 25 May

It is with great pleasure that the Headmaster and Common Room invite parents and families to our Commemoration Weekend. We look forward to welcoming you on this special occasion.

Tickets are only required for the concert on the Friday evening but it would be helpful to know numbers for Saturday for catering/seating purposes.

Please complete the attached form and return ticket requirements and numbers to Karen Evans, office@deanclose.org.uk in the Front Office.

Commemoration Concert: Bacon Theatre (tickets required)

Day pupils attend with their parents and will require tickets.

Boarding pupils will attend with their houses (if you wish your boarding pupil to sit with you they will require tickets).

Information for Parents/Guardians of performers at Commem Concert

Please would parents/guardians note below, the dress code for everyone performing in the Commem Concert on Friday 24 May. Everyone in the Orchestra and/or Chamber Choir will be performing on the night.

Girls:  Full length colourful dress

Boys: All black – with white shirt, to have long sleeves, collar and buttons.  No tie.

Button holes will be provided for all performers.


Careers Fair

Wednesday 26 June, 2.30-4.00pm

We are holding a Careers Afternoon in the Dining Room for the Lower Sixth inviting different companies to the School to chat to our pupils on a one to one basis about training, opportunities etc. Each pupil has to speak to three different companies, ideally one being a Recruitment company to give our pupils a flavour of what employers are looking for in the workplace. Ultimate Activity Camps

Ultimate Activity Camps will be back this Summer, using our fantastic facilities for their fun filled and active camps. The dates this year are Monday 22 July – Friday 23 August.

Children will be inspired to try new activities, make new friends and ultimately have lots of fun in a safe environment.
