Following the exeat weekend, this week has felt a little bit like the quiet before the storm. Staff members have writing reports and pupils have been their busy selves, and on top of their usual academic endeavours, have been rehearsing for Fiddler, practicing their musical instruments, and dashing about the sports fields. The girls had a successful set of hockey fixtures against Wycliffe on Thursday, and we look forward to the Rugby fixtures against Prior Park and hockey against Bromsgorve this afternoon.

The Chapel Choir’s singing of Evensong at St Paul’s Cathedral went superbly on Monday and proved to be a very special occasion. The Staff got in on the action last evening, when they played hockey against the Parents in a very evenly contested match, and this once again demonstrates the strong relationship which exists within the Dean Close Community.

Fiddler on the Roof

This week sees the culmination of weeks of hard work from the cast, the Production team, which includes the backstage crew, and the Bacon Theatre staff. The dress rehearsal on Tuesday will be watched by a throng of visiting Prep school children, and is preceded by a Drama Workshop led by members of the cast.

The show has completely sold out, and we have waiting lists for all 3 performances, so any returns would be gratefully received. If you have tickets to return please email the Bacon Theatre at, or call them on 01242 258002 (Weekdays 9am-12noon).

Choral Society

There will be no more Choral Society rehearsals for Carmina Burana this term. Rehearsals will restart on the first day back after the Christmas break, on Tuesday 10 January at 7.00pm in the Prince Michael Hall.
