As ever, half term involved a number of trips going out to a variety of locations including a Boys’ Indoor Hockey trip to Scotland, a lower school trip to the Battlefields of France, and the Geography trip to the lava fields and hot springs of Iceland. Once again this demonstrates the fantastic opportunities on offer for the pupils to enhance their learning experience.
We have been made aware that there is a public site which is publishing incorrect term dates. Please refer to the School’s website to ensure that you have the correct dates to hand. We are looking forward to welcoming the Boarders back at 8.00pm on Sunday 6 November, and the Day Pupils at 8.15am on Monday 7 November. We break up for Christmas on Friday 16 December at 12 noon.
Remembrance Sunday – 13 November
Our Service on Sunday 13 November is a compulsory whole school event and as such, if there are any pupils who are unable to attend, leave of absence should be sought through the usual channels, which are highlighted below. It is regrettable that on this particular occasion, we are unable to accommodate parents in Chapel due to space constraints. Pupils are required to report to their Houserooms by 10.30am in best dress. The Service will start promptly at 10.50am and will be finished by 12 noon.
Reminder: Firework Display – Sunday 6 November
To coincide with the start of the 2nd half of term, we are celebrating Guy Fawkes Night on Sunday 6 November. This provides a great opportunity to invite the Whole School to this exciting social event. Please see the attached flyer for further details. Admission is Free! It would be great to see lots of people there.
Leave of Absence Requests
Any request for Leave of Absence during term time needs to be submitted to the Deputy Headmaster (email@example.com) via the Housemaster well in advance. Leave is only granted in exceptional circumstances as any absence from lessons, places additional pressure on the pupils to catch up on work that they have missed.
