Chedworth Roman Villa is set in the heart of the Cotswolds and is a fantastic hands-on venue where children canexperience what it might have been like to live in the Roman era.Earlier this term pupils in Year 4 were
lucky enough to enjoy an informative visit to this local historical site. Throughout the day pupils enjoyed a tour around the site, listening to stories about what it might have been like to be a Roman, living in Chedworth. On
the tour theyalso learntthat the site had once been lost to nature and then rediscovered by a game-keeper
and his dog!

The children had the opportunity to dress as slaves andwere taught how to make different medicines by
grinding assorted herbs and seeds. They also examined Romanartefacts, studied somebeautifulmosaics
and learnt a littleaboutancient Roman hygiene!!
