Before half term the whole of the Prep School headed to beautiful Tewkesbury Abbey for a wonderful service to celebrate the link between the Schola Cantorum and Dean Close School.
Ten years ago the Schola Cantorum became part of DCPS and the service was an opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the link which has brought so much to our School. 450 Prep School pupils, staff and parents filled the Abbey to receive a warm welcome from the Reverend Canon Paul Williams, Vicar of Tewkesbury.

The Schola Cantorum sang
Stanford’s ‘Song of Peace’ and
our own Senior Choir sang ‘Ave
Maria’. The School’s Chaplain, Reverend John Ash talked about how the early darkness
reminds us of the approaching advent; a time when we think more about Jesus. Through a
combination of references such as ‘Finding Nemo’, bike lights and lanterns the Reverend talked
about the three L’s of Advent: Love, Light and ‘Leaning’ on Jesus.
Many thanks to Fr Paul Williams and Fr David Coulton for hosting and leading a wonderful
service, and to everyone who joined us.
