Pre-Prep was roaring with Triceratops, Pterodactyls, T-Rexes, cavepeople and explorers as pupils came to school dressed to enjoy a Dinosaur WOW Day.
Each term, to start or finish a new topic, Pre-Prep holds exciting, dramatic, amazing WOW Days for each year group and sometimes the whole school together. These special days immediately captivate the children, bring learning to life and create an atmosphere of fun, enjoyment andexcitement about the topic to come. The Year Two topic this term is ‘Prehistoric Life’ and children have already enjoyed an amazing dinosaur workshop during which they were able to examine some real fossils. This special Dinosaur WOW Day reinforced the learning from the workshop as the childrentook part in a variety of activities, such as a dinosaur fact treasure hunt, learning dinosaur vocabulary in French and designing and making dinosaur masks.
Headmistress, Dr Carolyn Shelley said, “The children came bursting into school today, showing me their fabulous costumes and were really excited about what the day would bring. Both staff and children thoroughly enjoy our WOW Days and Dinosaur WOW Day is a great example as the children have the opportunity to immerse themselves in one of their favourite topics, learn new amazing facts and then impress me with their incredible knowledge!”
