Year One children enjoyed a visit to Thinktank in Birmingham to find out more about their science work over the year. We had the opportunity to explore forces in the outside Science Garden where everyone used levers and pulleys to move equipment, which included a giant hamster wheel. There were also lots of opportunities to experiment with water to see how its energy moved objects.

We visited The Street and enjoyed a range of interactive activities to find out how our body works, how objects can be recycled, and how food is prepared in a kitchen. We looked at nature in the wildlife area and saw many fossils and old skeletons as well as lots of animals from today. There were many other opportunities to explore areas of science, such as light, electricity and the senses.

The trip was a fantastic opportunity to use our science learning in a practical way and find out more about the world around us.
