Year Two pupils had the opportunity to play in real hockey matches, when they hosted friendlygames with Cheltenham College on the Dean Close astroturf pitches. The teams enjoyed some super games, with proud parents and friends cheering them on. For many of the children this was their first experience of a hockey match – and they were able to put into practice the super skills they had been learning throughout the term.During the afternoonthe children played in5 mini-matches, experiencing what it was like towork as a team, defend and attack against 5 different groups.

It was a fantastic afternoon demonstrating some impressive hockey and with a
very supportive and enthusiastic atmosphere. The matches finished with a lovely match tea in the Dean Close Senior School dining-room.
